When Sas asked me to come down to Orange county to do some maternity photography, I was so stoked. I met Sas and Jamie on the day of their wedding in June 2008 at Sugar Pine Point State Park. I had just surrendered my life as a photographer for the Fresno Bee the day before their wedding. When I met Sas, I told her that she and Jamie were going to adopt me and bring me back to Sugar Pine Point State Park every time they come back to Tahoe. I was in heaven on their wedding day. I loved everything about them, the friends and family, and of course Sugar Pine Point. I found my calling as if I’d never had a calling before. Such a profound feeling when you know instantaneously where you should be and what you should be doing with your life. Last year Sas and Jamie took me on a exploratory trek up Castle Peak, (me and my peak bagging adventures), of which 1.5 hours up and almost 3 hours down due to our scrambling through loose rock on the south side of the face of Castle Peak. I remember telling Sas something about having children (when are you going to have kids, so I can have a little brother or sister?), and about a month or 6 weeks later, Sas got pregnant. They offered to fly me down to LA last month so I could photograph the huge and beautiful belly of Sas. In the next few days Sas and Jamie will have a brand new person to bless their life for the next 18 years. I can’t wait until I can go back to LA to photograph their brand new. Some of my favorites of Sas’ maternity session in Hermosa and PV. A combination of film and digital.
