Q: How many Lake Tahoe weddings have you shot, and how many do you do in a year? Also, what’s your favorite part of a wedding day, and time of year to shoot?

A: I began photographing weddings in 2004 have photographed about 150 weddings in my career thus far. I really enjoy hanging out during bridal and groom preparation allowing my couples get used to how I work, if we haven’t photographed an engagement session. I love all times of year to photograph. Each season has it’s own weather and environment to play with.

Q: Why did you decide to specialize in Lake Tahoe weddings?

A: I fall in love with my couples that have so much love for each other. They’re comfortable with each other showing their friends and family how much it means to them to be together surrounded by those that will help them grow their relationship in marriage. They’re best friends, and usually have been through some intense experiences to be together.

Q: How far in advance do you book?

A: A year. However I am always booking last minute weddings and elopements as well. I reserve a certain number of Lake Tahoe weddings per year, so please book as soon as possible if my services are what you’re interested in.

Q: Have you ever photographed at my venue before?

A: If I haven’t, I arrive about an hour early to envision how the light will change throughout the day and plan my photography locations.

Q: Do you follow a shot list or prefer to have free reign to photograph the festivities as you see fit?

A: I prefer free reign as it allows me to photograph as you have hired me to. However I do prefer to have a portrait list as mom, dad or grandma will probably kill you if you didn’t have some family portraits.

Q: What is your wedding photography fee, and what do I get?

A: Lake Tahoe wedding photography begins at $3000 for full day coverage. My retainer fees are non-refundable and are required to reserve your wedding on my calendar, and it covers all the time spent preparing for the wedding, the time of the wedding itself, the time spent selecting and preparing your images for viewing, and album or canvas design. Any other prints, products, or digital files can be purchased as part of your Collection, or separately following the showing of your personalized gallery.

Q: Do you still offer digital images?

A: Definitely! I offer a selection of full size images available for download or smaller sized images available for social media sharing.

Q: Can’t I just get the digitals?

A: In my experience from delivering files in the past, the majority share them immediately on Facebook but never get around to printing or having professional mounted prints, canvases or an heirloom album created. When I’d hear from couples later, sometimes years later, they’d often tell me that they were so busy and never knew what sizes to get, so they never printed anything and “now it’s too late,” either because the USB/disc/files got lost or technology has upgraded.  That incredibly important celebration never got printed and will not be around when technology changes for their grandkids to see! My clients trust me to provide them with photographs that will last for lifetimes, and that is what my archival professional printing and design offers that digital can not.

Q: Will you be our wedding photographer or an associate? What happens if you’re unable to photograph our Lake Tahoe wedding?

A: I usually work solo, however depending on how big your wedding is, I definitely bring a second photographer. If I’m not able to make it to your wedding (knock on wood), I work with select photographers to make sure your wedding is covered.

Q: How are your prints different than prints I could get at Shutterfly?

A: There’s no comparison. We wouldn’t be comparing apples to apples here by comparing my artwork to paper you get from Shutterfly, Mpix or the like. There are several reasons why you should receive prints from me, such as my professional and heirloom quality that are not available with consumer labs, the fact that my lay-flat albums are handmade, or the investment you’re making in your wedding photography and artwork. I want to deliver products that’ll stand the test of time. You should really contact me about scheduling your free consultation to find out why for yourself.

Q: When will I be able to see my images after the wedding?

A: Your images will be ready for viewing and ordering about 4 weeks after the date of your wedding.

Q: How long until my products arrive after I order them?

A: After you place your order, I artistically perfect every image that will be printed. My typical turnaround time for albums, mounted prints and canvases is 4 months, although I strive to have them ready for you sooner.

Q: All of this sounds great! Now what do I do?

A: Wonderful! Once you decide you want what I have to offer, or you want more information, we’ll plan a pre-wedding consultation to answer any questions you might have. You’ll need to see if my service will be a good fit for you. You’ll want to see my sample products and decide you want to go ahead and book your wedding with me, the non-refundable retainer fee will be collected to reserve your spot on my calendar. I’ll also be in touch before your wedding as we prepare for it, so I’ll be available to help in any way I can along the way. I can’t wait to work with you and get to know you better!
